28 Days Rule on Financial Documents

Hi all! We're currently gathering all the required documents for my fiance visa. However, I have a few questions regarding the financial documents.

    Timeline:
Submit online application and pay - October 1 (Saturday)
Book appointment and submit all documents to VFS - October 6 (Thursday)

    Questions:
    1. My fiance's last bank statement was dated 4 August - 3 September. Thus, the next bank statement will be 4 September - 3 October. Do we still have to wait for this statement and include in the submission?

    2. If ever the answer to my question above is NO, is there a need to include his September payslip? Or just include the previous 6 months?
NOTE: His online payslips (to save trees) are usually every 24th of the month. So I already have his September payslip.

    Thanks in advance!

I think it depends when his pay is actually credited to the account.

You need to ensure that you have six payslips and six bank statements that show the funds entering the bank account, the newest of those bank statements being no more than 28 days old.

In your case, for example, if he is paid on the 24th of the month, then I believe that you would need the bank statement for the month of September and the payslip for the month of September if you wanted to apply on October 1st.

Don't forget that you can gather documents for a short while after your online submission and before you actually hand in documents to VFS - if you make your appointment say 10 days after your submission date.

I guess we'll just have to move the submission of application and payment date a bit longer just to get his September-October bank statements. And I just realized, if I'm not going to include his September payslip, his August payslip will be more than 28days old. Too reckless of me to miss that.

Thanks for the help @ChoiAndJohn ! :) This visa thing can stress you mentally.

You're welcome. Better safe than sorry. You'll get there. When I finished the application for my wife and 2 stepdaughters, I had 15kg of paper in a stack 45cm high.

That's quite a lot! The papers I have right now might only weigh a kilo. Should I be worried? Though, there are still more that I need to print, but I doubt if it will reach 2+kg.

Yeah, better safe than sorry. :like::like::like:

Different applications and different circumstances. Plus the figures I quoted included the copies. No I wouldn't be worried.

The most recent bank statement and the most recent pay slip both need to be more recent than 28 days to the date of application. Simple as that.

His bank statement will be more than 28days when I book the appointment to vfs. But that's not my major concern as the basis is the submission of online application.

I'm more worried with the matching of bank statements and payslips. Docs won't jive as his payslips are "advanced" compared to the bank statements.

If the bank statements and payslips are slightly out of step then I'd be tempted to submit 7 months of each, either way I do not think you'll have a problem, just mention it on the further information page of the application if you feel the need to.

The September payslip of my F was already available when we went to VFS on the 15th but I forgot to print it out so I have submitted August which is also the last reflected pay in the bank statement.
Why don't you just submit the payslip that is reflected on the last credit entry on the BS?

Don't worry about matching payslips and bank statements. Worry about getting both within 28 days.

I can't. It's way pass the 28days rule. He's paid every 24th of the month. We haven't submitted the online application yet. Planning to do it by Sept 30 (Friday) or October 1 (Saturday).

Haha! Right! That's the major worry of them all! Unfortunately, he's still working and can't help me out with the online application right now. If only he didn't go out to watch footie in the pub last Sunday!

So you mean to say it's ok to provide more than 6months of statements/payslips?

If you think it will better explain your financial position then go ahead.

Remember there is always an empty page on the application where you can further explain anything that you feel you need to elaborate on.

At the end of the day we are trying to present a clear financial picture to the case worker dealing with your application.

It can't be that hard. Surely there's a maximum of 15 days between the two so getting both with 28 is relatively simple.

I understand the 28 day rule regarding payslips and bank statements but it is OK to submit a bank statement that is dated within the 28 days of the application date but stamped by the bank a week after the application date?
    Confusing I know...

I don't think the date the application was created is that important as it gives you choice to state 'date of arrival' 3 months in advance. I had a few things to explain in our application to make it clear to the ECO what they were viewing. I included a covering note for all types of documentation provided like work contract, payslips, bank statements etc.
