    good morning all from your furry friend, ok my wife's visa expires in December so she has to apply for her 2nd visa to stay for another 2.5 years and then after this she will get her Idefinate leave to remain.
    So my questions are

    1. My son will now have a uk passport so I don't need to pay for him correct ?

    2. My wife is due another baby so will I have to get the baby a visa or being born in the uk will he or she be an automatic uk resident.

    3. If the two above are correct how much do I need to lock into my savings account for my wife's requirement I know last time it's was 70 odd K but that was my son as well.

    4. Have I missed anything ?

    Thanks for your time reading your furry friend

    1. If your son has a UK passport he is not required to apply for a visa so you don't need to pay for him.

    2. Your baby, being born in the UK to one parent (yourself) who is presumably British, will also be British. You can get a British passport for him/her.

    3. If you intend to prove income through savings alone with zero income then you will need £62,500 in savings for your spouse who is the only visa applicant.

    This is calculated by the formula:

    Savings = 16000 + (2.5 * D)
    where D = [18600 - gross annual income]

    There is a calculator here that you can use to adjust to your requirements.

    Thank you very much, yes the gorilla is very British

    That's great it will save me having to tie up more money in a silly savings account for another six months.

    Rules our rules I guess.

    I understand the reasons why, but on the other end of the scale it's a little crazy.

    I've forgotten Mr Gorilla did you say before that you got a right of abode certificate in your son's Philippine passport, if so apply for a British passport as soon as possible and before the Philippine passport expires.

    New baby is British nothing to worry about or do other than the usual stuff when a child is born here.
