At least four quakes hit the Visayas area between midnight Friday and noon Saturday, with state seismologists warning of possible aftershocks from at least one of the quakes.

The first quake was recorded 12:47 a.m. with the epicenter at 36 km southeast of Sipalay in Negros Occidental.

Phivolcs said the quake was measured at magnitude 2.9 and was felt at Intensity II at Sipalay, Negros Occidental.

While it said no damage was expected from the quake, aftershocks were possible.

A second quake measuring magnitude 2.6 was recorded at 9:24 a.m., with the epicenter at 8 km northeast of Albuera in Leyte.

The quake was felt at Intensity II in Burauen and Albuera in Leyte.

The third quake measuring magnitude 3.3 was felt at 9:25 a.m., with the epicenter at 7 km southwest of Burauen, Leyte.

It was felt at Intensity II in Burauen and Albuera, Leyte.

The fourth quake was recorded at 10:35 a.m., and measured magnitude 3.7.

Its epicenter was traced to 11 km southeast of Mabinay in Negros Oriental.

The fourth quake was felt at Intensity III in Tayasan, Negros Oriental; and at Intensity I in Iloilo City.

The latest tremors in the Visayas area occured even as residents in some parts of Negros Oriental are trying to put their lives back to normal after the devastating magnitude-6.9 quake struck on Feb. 6, killing over 50 people.

As of Saturday morning, Phivolcs recorded over 1,700 aftershocks from the Feb. 6 quake that hit Guihulngan City hardest

I hope that it is just minor aftershocks and not a precursor to something bigger.....:(
