    Points are points...........

Go over and get driving ban........... that is the rule...........

42 points and still driving....?? i don't care about extenuating circumstances... I would not be given that excuse for sure.:erm:

I had 9 once. You'd be amazed what a difference it makes to your driving.

Yes; 12 means a year ban. And they come in threes.

I had 9 ( 3 lots of 3 ) a few years back. I went through a bad patch over a 1 year period. On 9 it does focus your attention a bit more than if you had none. Thankfully my license is clean again now.

I got 3 in 2005, had only just got them off the licence when I got another three early in 2010, the second three should be long gone for the purposes of toting up but annoyingly are still on my paper licence as I believe you have to keep them visible for 4 years.

The 3 in 2005 were the first points I had acquired since the 1970's when I was a biker, I was very upset about them, saying that I was and I am no saint when it comes to hammering up and down the motorway; back in the old days I was doing 20,000 or more miles a year and one gets to the point where you just want to get to the end of the journey.

Yes. I got my first points driving home from Aberdeen to Manchester some years back. I had just finished 2 weeks on a rig and was simply keen to get home. It was a fair cop though and the officer had no sympathy for my desire to get home after a stint away with a long journey ahead of me.
