Its been a dificult time the last weeks since the CFO nazis then the stalling out of our EEA family reunification visa looks like I will have to wait till I am in Portugal and communication has been a bit fraught with my own patience levels low

Jheans had a developing rash thats itchy over the weekend starting friday and today she went to the doc,s at the general hospital who ordered a blood test

It shows her platelets at 158 which is very low side of normal and immediatly wanted to admit her for suspected dengue and glucose drip

I wanted to talk about this a bit as being in a provincial ?Hospital here is not much fun

She had the same situation last August but no treatment

I suggested tawa tawa tea and having already downloaded a good review befor i went first to the Phils went and got the plant and started to prepare it the niehbor said just the roots but on all the internet info they were mostly discarded although some say use all

I also sugested drinking coke for keeping hydrated as an alternative to glucose

Long and the short my brew has been discarded she has made her own from the stems and roots only and we are not talking ho hum

Coke will dehyrate her Keith not a good idea, the caffeine is a diuretic.

gator aid then i guess the problem here is jumping to conclusions and ending up to quickly in the hands of the authorities the only treatment for dengue is support in hydration and in extreme cases blood or platelet transfusion Shes not feeling that poorly off to the market now to buy fruits and garlic offered to go but

yesterday we were at the bbq and cake shop and the alchohol rub just exasabates a rash and makes it worse

Hope she gets better soon Keith. :( Like others said, steer clear of coke and also Mountain Dew (also contains a lot of caffeine).

You might find drinks like Gatorade, which contain a lot of sugar...

    Same with me. ;)

Keith, sorry to hear about the latest happenings. Stay happy. Plenty of lambing needed :lovey:

You need to keep an eye on your wife if it may be Dengue. Check fever levels which can go up and down. Sometimes it can happen with Dengue that it appears a recover is on it's way then back to fever etc. Keith, I'm sure you know this well but don't leave it unchecked more than a few days, please.

Thanks for the concern much better form today now we think its an allergic reaction to "the water"the witchdoctor confirms

Its difficult to "lamb" when there is no communication about how to manage a situation especialy here in the Phils in the UK I would have bought some calendular cream for the irritation

Dengue is very often both a catch all dyognosis for things that cant be explained it also has an extremely low morbidity rate except among the very young and undernourished or those with compromised immune systems
