A quick settlement decision: should I be worried?

    Hi All

Sheffield received our documents for my fiancee's settlement fiance visa on Aug 31st 2018. She's just today received an SMS advising that a decision has been made and that her passport will be en route.

Naturally, like anyone else would be in this situation, we are both really nervous as to the decision... but should we have any more reason to be worried of a negative decision, considering the apparent short time it took to decide?

Actual working days since bio-metrics would have been 29 days. Yes, we paid priority, but we were expecting to still wait 45-60 days considering their reputation and reports from other applicants on this forum.

    Arrgh, soooo nervous! :eek:o_O:oops::erm::alien::sick:

You paid priority and have a quicker decision, if it was a straightforward application then be excited you have a quick decision.

it could well be there werent many other priority applications at the same time as yours. when priority service was introduced the turn around time goal was 10 working days--and some did get theirs in that time ( 2016 )

I’d be more worried if you paid for priority and waited for more than 60 days. I’m sure you’ll get the good news. All the best :like:

I really hope that's the case.

Wasn't sure whether a fast turnaround these days, priority or not, was typically indicative of a declined decision.

For instance, they see a crucial document missing so no point in any further checks etc, just bounce it back to the applicant as soon as possible, so they can re-apply (and repay) quicker.

Though I did tell myself (and others!) that I felt our application was about as straightforward as it gets, so here's hoping we've just had a good experience with the system!

When I stuffed up my application, I received an email quite soon giving me a week or so to sort it out. The positive result then appeared about a month or so later.

If you truly have a straightforward application (no ambiguity on salary, accommodation, genuine relationship), I'd be feeling quite confident in your boots right now. Of course, you're still going to be bricking it until you see the proof with your own eyes.

Perhaps you can start making tentative plans to get the CFO out of the way (which, for me, was the most bothersome procedure in the whole saga).

Thank you for the words of encouragement :)

@PorkAdobo We attended the CFO when I was over there with her in August, so we just need to stop by for the green stamp - should the visa be approved :D

Hope you get a good result I am sure you will.
I firmly believe that the timetable for getting a response is based on the content of the application and how sttraightfirward the application is,yours appears hopefully good on both counts, delays are often caused by missing detail or complexity of the application.
Good luck to you both enjoy.

My fiancee just received her passport back (on a Saturday afternoon). Visa approved! :D
Valid from one week prior to the date we requested. Spot on!

Smiling so much my face is beginning to hurt! :)

Congrats, you case just goes to show that the priority is worth it again if it’s a straightforward application.
