Here's where it all started many years ago. I remember it just like it was yesterday. Also remember that blue suit. ABBA Waterloo Eurovision 1974 (High Quality)
I've always been a fan ever since I first saw them on Eurovision and then TOTP (probably nobody here old enough to remember Top Of The Pops) Their music is somehow timeless, sounds just as 'fresh' and interesting now as it did all those years ago. The lyrics are also good (usually) Very easy for me to listen to their music when I driving.
Driving at the sound of AbbA makes me violent and wanting to run pensioners over.... And Iron Butterfly calms me down to a gentle sleep...
Hard to imagine Abba having that effect Now, your apparent dependency on Iron Butterfly is worrying. Even I haven't heard that band named since ...... well I guess over 25 years. Aromulus, you must be a child of the sixties also (and I don't mean born in the sixties)
I was spending time, spliffing and sitting by the monument in Leidseplein, in Amsterdam, wearing my long afghan lambskin coat, and listening to some nice people playing their guitars nad drums, with the accompaniment of police whistles, and the gentle sound of police horse hoofs charging us... That was after the parks were made off limits to camping.....
My all time favourite ABBA song (with a very personal meaning BTW ) ABBA-The Winner Takes It All Live 1980
that's my husband's fave as well... mine would have to be mama mia and thank you for the music... whenever we go drive somewhere, i always have abba playing and singing along while hubby tries very hard to listen to the satnav instructions... LOL
