Hi everyone, I'm looking for some help/advice from others who have gone through the UK Spouse visa application. My wife and I got married in February in Philippines, and i have recently returned to the UK for work as i understand i need to obtain 6 months of payslips as part of the the financial requirements for the visa. However, i have just realised that because i am currently self-employed, it states that the my most recent tax-return would be accepted as the financial requirement as opposed to 6 months of payslips, if this is the case then we could save months waiting for pay slips when I could obtain my most recent tax-return in April this year. So, my 1st question is to anyone else who is self-employed and has provided their tax return as evidence of financial requirements to confirm if this will be accepted for a successful application? 2nd question, I do not currently have a Mortgage contract nor do have a tenancy agreement, my work pays for digs which i stay in the duration of the time working here in the UK. What would be my best bet for getting round this? Would it be possible to obtain a Tenancy agreement for my parents house to meet their requirements? I don't want to be throwing money away on rent until AFTER we get the visa. We also have a 3 yr old son together who I've already applied for his UK passport via the Liverpool route (don't ask) this was applied for in March last year and we are still waiting. I have got my local MP looking into this for me now and have told me they will get back to me in the next week. Any help on these 3 topics would be greatly appreciated. I have been back in UK only a week and already can't bear waiting another 6 months to be with my family again. I just want to get all this sorted as quickly as possible once and for all.
yeh, seems my situation is not that "normal" to others, really don't know what to do for the best. I may just work 6 months, get the payslips AND the tax return and surely that should be enough. I'm hoping to get a solicitor to make a tenancy agreement for my mothers and hope they will accept that.
as regards living at your parents house----is the property big enough with regards to accommodation--number of bedrooms etc--? for--them--you 2--and your child ?
Its a 2 bedroom house, so possibly not, but i'm hoping that if we receive my sons British passport before the application then i wont need to mention our son in my Wifes application, it would be just for the 2 of us in there eyes, and 2 bedroms should be fine?
best read through the online application--and appendix---thoroughly--get to know it off by heart. the questions regarding accommodation are straightforward--and include asking who will live there. so--i cannot agree with your last sentence.
in appendix2---which you print off and fill out by hand and submit with all your supporting documents to VFS after you make the online application. https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/270484/VAF4A-Appendix2.pdf
the rules and regs for shared housing are a bit complex. the main thing UKVI are looking for is the ten families sharing an overcrowded dump type scenario. so--you first port of call will be your local housing dept to see what they think of your proposed situation. but--off hand--i think a 3 year old can share a bedroom with parents....but check it out to be on the safe side
When do a home inspection for visa, they count living room has a sleeping area too, has i have a 1 bedroom flat and said 4 people can stay there and not be overcrowded. They not just count bedrooms. If you ask the housing they will only count your bedrooms but if do a ukba home inspection they count rooms for sleeping not kitchens or bathrooms. My housing told me i was overcrowded if my wife and son live with me but a ukba inspection says 4 people can live here and they do it for immigration and different from housing.
