    Big difference.

The agency will ask you to collect all the documents, and they will ask for lots of money just to put them in order and give them back to you to take to the Visa Centre....

It is something that with the right guidance you can do yourself and save the money.

Using the services of an agency does NOT guarantee the receipt of a Visa.

I agree with you Aromulos! I experienced it when I attempted to apply tourist visa for USA. I thought they can assist me well. But I was wrong...during the process I found out that all help they gave to me, of course with corresponding price! I can do all of them on my own...anyway, I learned from that experienced.
I'm sure you can handle it by yourself Tinabarrie...just explore and search online. There are many forums that you can read. best of luck!

All the information you require for a successful visa application is contained within the forum, if you have any questions just post them here and someone will try to help you.

    Let me be more blunt:

In many countries, it is advisable to use an "agent" because the "agent" will act as a "fixer", and will see that your application is seen and passed by "friends" who have a financial interest in passing your application.

This DOES NOT WORK WITH THE UK.

The "agent" will try to give the impression that they can ensure that your application will pass. Actually, the agent cannot affect the process at all.

I think that if you apply yourself then you have all the control over the visa process, Philippines to UK settlement visa, no agent required unless you have a complicated financial situation.
