advice regards new flr m rules 2016?

    hi, heard a rumour not sure what basis it has that the financial requirement for visas goes up next year from the current 18,000?is there any truth to this- if so if my wife came here in 2013 on 6 month fiancé visa, then shes done part 1 of FLR it runs out june next year would we stay on the old earnings threshold..which she entered the country on?

    The financial requirement has been £18,600 since 2012 when the rules changed, remember your wife's earnings can be used on the FLR(M) application as well as your own.

    so is it a baseless roumour the requirements going up to 35k in 2016?

    Where did you hear that Steve? Unless its on an official government website its just hearsay.

    I think the confusion comes from new rules being talked about on work permits. They are saying the after 6 years, people on work permits need to be earning around that figure.

    It doesn't affect spouse visas, although that's not to say they won't change that too at some point.

    It would only effect new applicants though, even if they did. Or, at least, that was the case last time.

    AH YES I SEE, GOOD NEWS FOR US THEN FEEL SORRY FOR THE MIGRANT WORKERS-NURSES ETC EXPECTING TO EARN 35K AFTER FIVE YEAR SEEMS CRAZY!
