Not just hammered with APD but should one cancell a ticket the tax charged is not refunded. To change a ticket booking with Emirates costs £80 and £100 to cancell a ticket. Only a few years ago these admin items were free. Rip-off Britain is getting worse. Tom
I can only speak from my own experience, but on the few times I've needed to claim back the tax on air tickets it's always ended well. You need to claim it and you need to follow up.
Thank's. It is indeed "a murky one" and with "voice Jail" almost impossible to TALK to anyone so a visit to their office is required. All the more wasted "follow up" expenses so most let the claim slide.! A good ploy, make it almost impossible for the customer, by the concerned Airlines. Tom
I reckon that with what I would pay in taxes for two flights, would easily cover two flights to Italy and a few days stay there.

Hi new young assistant is going to Lanzagrottie with his wife and 9 month old baby. The baby does not get a seat but has to sit on the parents lap AND they have to pay £51 Tax for the privelage. Their ticket price is about £102 each.
