Alternative Pinoy foods from Local shops.

    Chicharon (Pork crackling) - Pub pork crackling in Asda/Tesco, Golden Pork crunch in Cost Cutter.
    Beef Caldereta - Balti curry in jar or rogan josh from Asda, Sainsbury, Tesco, Aldi
    Chicken Caldereta - spanish chicken in jar from Sainsbury.
    Magic Sarap - Knorr seasoning..there is also Knorr chicken and beef cube in Asda or Tesco
    Dole Pineapple (Made in the Phil.) selling in Asda
    Pandesal - white petit pain (roll) in m&s, asda, tesco.
    Ensaymada - Brioche bread in Aldi or Lidl.

    I suggested them as I found it cheaper than buying in Pinoy shop:erm:

    I do miss pandesal with cheese for brunch though :eek:

    We buy brioche rolls in Tesco. My wife refers to them as pandesal. I really don't know what real pandesal tastes like so can't comment on the accuracy of similarity.

    We used to buy packs of part baked rolls and after 20 minutes in the oven, they are the best alternative to pandesal...
