Mae has just been admitted to Davao Doctors Hospital two weeks early after her Ob-Gyn decided that her baby was getting a bit too big and might get into distress, or worse. Five days ago, his scan showed a weight of 7lbs 10oz and by this afternoon it had risen to 8lb 5oz. So he will be delivered by C-Section some time tomorrow, probably in the morning. Provided all goes well, Mae should be home for the weekend. I hope!
Charles was just the same - 8lbs 5 oz and delivered early by Caesarean section for the same reason. He suffered from postnatal jaundice for a couple of days. He will be 12 on Saturday and plays hooker in his school team and second row for his club team - he is a very beefy lad!

Baby Mark made his debut at 10:31am this morning and weighed-in at 8lbs 1oz. He's currently in the Newborn Care Unit because his respiratory rate is far too high. They rushed him to the X-Ray department and X-Rayed his chest but nothing untoward was seen. He's currently in an oxygen tent and being constantly monitored. Mae gave some concern also because she didn't respond to the antidote to the anaesthetic and remained comatose for almost six hours. But she's back in her room and is also being monitored.
Well I will be finding out tomorrow morning but neither the Ob-Gyn who delivered him nor the Paediatrician in charge of the Newborn Care Unit mentioned that. I rather think the lamp is there to keep him warm as it was decidedly chilly in that room and all the other (5) babies are covered by blankets up to their chins.
What can I add...??? Congratulations, and well done to Mum ... She must be relieved it is over..........
Around 9.45 last evening, baby Mark was transferred from ITU into Mae's care having responded well to the IV drugs and oxygen. He's already had his first immunizations against Tuberculosis and Hepatitis B, had his hearing tested and they've drawn blood which is being tested for several conditions. Mother and baby were discharged from hospital this afternoon. I would have posted a later photo but the software won't let me.
Ummm.... that's exactly what I did. That didn't work last time either but I managed to use copy-paste but now that functionality seems to have disappeared also.
