A stab in the dark here but eh ho. my wife has been here 4 weeks now and although she is settling in really well, starting a new job in Sep, making friends etc, I was wondering if there were any like minded Filipinas in our area ? She has met one, in her late 60s, but the wife hasn’t reached 40 yet so any that may have more in common would be a welcome addition.
Thanks for that - although in Dorset, and Bournemouth only a short distance away, it would be difficult for her to get involved with anything over there, especially during summer months when it’s so busy down here.
From what I have seen, Filipinas seem to like meeting in McDonalds. It's worth a look! ONce your wife makes contact with someone of a similar age, she will be introduced to lots more.
Wait until she fries stinky fish in your kitchen. Now, that is something to look forward to As she is new to the UK, buy a couple of hot water bottles with the soft covers on. She will need them in the winter or even Autumn.
Sardines don't really smell very much. She will try to fry fish that requires you to wear a self-contained breathing apparatus
