Hi, I became a British Citizen today :)

I am applying for my first British passport and it says I need to provide additional documents

If you were born in the Philippines, or your parents are married or divorced and have links to the Philippines
Check the documents you need to provide if you’re applying for a first UK Passport and either:
    • you were born in the Philippines
    • your parents are married or divorced and have links to the Philippines
    https://www.gov.uk/government/publi...19.1507324879.1700660352-126267787.1700660352

I was born in the Philippines and my parents are both Filipino. They were married before I was born (my mother is deceased). Do I need to provide additional documents?

    Any help appreciated

I am inside the UK. But that’s the words and link during the application process. Strange it links to outside the UK

Has anyone received their first passport lately? Did they supply additional documents?

If you naturalised then it is irrelevant. Document only covers where british citizenship is inherited (or not) from parents.

Yes, it is strange. It says if you were born in the Philippines supply extra documents. Then the link is for outside the UK and only describes inherited citizenship.

I assume I can ignore it and just supply the standard documents

Congratulations on getting your British citizenship :)

I have recently got three UK passports for me and our children.
(My Filipino wife's British passport did not need to renewed).
The application form is very detailed about what is required and if you do not complete it accurately, they will send everything back to the address you provided to be completed accurately.
I know this because everything came back to me to be done again.
