I spent quite some time researching the bizarre Philippine delicacies posted by Balot.

Couldn't find too much about those batud or ubod or 'Coconut grubs' that live in the coconut tree. Except that to enjoy them at their best you need to remove their stomachs first, otherwise all you taste is the rotted coconut wood that they feed on.

If I knew how to upload a photo I could upload a picture showing a nice plate of Batud. Really.

But I managed to find some information about Tamilok (Shipworms or Teredo Worms)
Tamilok is a mangrove worm that is not exactly a worm. Although it looks like one, it is actually a mangrove-boring mollusk.

With a sharp knife, start looking for these delicious creatures inside mangrove tree barks, rotten and or fallen trees in the area.
Look for holes and you can find these slimy delicacies.

Anyways, during my research I came by some programs called “Bizarre Foods" by someone called Andrew Zimmern” who features on the Travel Channel

It's fantastic and you can watch it here:-
