    Hi again guys,
I'm a little confused with the conflicting info on booking my fiancé's flight to the UK. Do you need to book the flight pre-application and evidence it on the application or is that not required? It's difficult to book it in advance not knowing when/if your application will be approved.

No. Wait till she gets the visa before booking the flight.

The embassy will not expect you to have booked the flight prior to the visa application.

We booked a one way ticket, by the way. But only once the visa had been issued.

Thanks John. That's the way that makes sense to me, but when did common sense ever come in to it? ;)

Yes. And even though the odds are stacked in the applicants favour on such a visa, you will have no idea in advance what date they will allocate the visa to.

Well thanks again John. I appreciate your time to respond. Keep your eyes peeled though, cos I'm sure we'll have another million questions before we're happily reunited yet.

Its probably true to say that nobody on this site booked their loved ones flight before they obtained the visa.

Its tempting fate and may be seen as being presumptuous by the case Officer dealing with the visa application :)
