British Citizenship... 'Referees'/'References' query?

I have seen several mentions, including on this Forum and YouTube 'vloggers', of applicants requiring professional character Referees/References when applying for British Citizenship?

There is mention of an accountant or solicitor being 'acceptable', but apart from self-employed, or criminals, who has either of these 'on tap'???

When my wife got her first Visa, permitting work, she had great difficulty in providing References to prospective employers! Despite my best efforts to encourage her to develop outside friendships and interests, she has never really been that interested.

Although BC is at least 12 months away - ILR first, early next year - any suggestions of how she might fulfil this requirement would be appreciated.

For my wife we used a Radiologist neighbour and a senior nurse friend.
Have a look on this link it tells you what’s what and when the time comes how to do the what’s what!
The referee status applies to both BC and passport application

Think requirements will be similar to passport referee. Excuse to take her to pub on regular basis and get to know the landlord
