BRP card

    Hi everyone.. I'll be coming to the UK this July 18.. Do i need a BRP card or it will only need in ILR?

    Hi Emerlyn. Did you receive a visa in your passport? If yes then just show this when you get to the UK. The next visa (BRP) will be when you apply for FLR.

    Yes HaloHalo i already received my visa.. So BRP card will be issued in applying for FLR.?

    Yes that's correct. You will apply for FLR after you have been in the UK for 30 months at the earliest.

    Keep all the post that you receive either that are addressed to you or both you and your husband as you will need them when you apply for FLR as your primary evidence of a subsisting relationship. :)

    I suspect that as most non-EU immigrants will have to get a BRP at the visa application stage, it will become increasingly difficult to get by in the UK without a BRP. I think you can apply for one voluntarily but you will have to pay. Luckily, for new visa immigrants, the BRP costs nothing.
