I have a multiple entry business visit visa type C to UK which will expire on April 23. I have used this visa once for business to attend a trade conference. I'm planning to come back for a few days for tourist purposes on April 12-19. Will I need to reapply for a general visitor visa? Thanks!
In theory yes. But in another sense you may have asked yourself, how would they know? Do you recall when you came in the first time. At passport control, did they question you? And what questions did they ask you?
Are you likely to come back to the UK after this forthcoming visit? If not then asJohn has alluded you could attempt it however there is some risk. I'm assuming you provided documented evidence of the trade show on your last visit?
If you were to arrive between 14/30 March, the you would have the Excuse of visiting the Ideal Home Exibition in Earls Court, london, for import./export ....
Thanks for all your replies. The first time I came in, I was just asked the purpose of visit. I was not asked for any documentation. I think they were aware that time that it was a very big event that I attended.
Ring somebody - anybody - in your industry or profession and arrange to meet them. Job done. Incidentally, as you probably know, China is the opposite - everyone going there on business gets a tourist visa because a business visa generates armfuls of bureaucracy!
The would usually question you about a lot of things before getting the go signal to enter. Better know of any trade events that are happening or tell them you will have a meeting with one of your partners.
