Is it allowed and is it faster to apply Schengen visa from the Philippines compared to UK? Or can I apply visas for both at the same time for us to make it by June 18? Thanks.
Yes, its allowed... but no it almost certainly is not faster. A Schengen visa can only be issued by a consulate of a Schengen signatory nation. It should in theory be the consulate of the first Schengen state that you intend to visit. Very obviously, you need to submit your Passport for each Visa, and given the length of time that the UK takes to issue Spouse visas, there is a risk that you will run out of time. \ The Consulates of the Schengen nations in London issue vast numbers of Schengen visas for visitors from Asia and will normally deal with an application in less than a week, whereas the Consulates of those nations in Manila only issue a handful. There is therefore a risk that they will take longer. I would get to London and apply from there.
Just to share info. I got my Schengen Visa from the French Embassy in Makati within 48hours, free of charge. So yeah, we made it to France =) Spouse of EU National can apply directly at the Embassy and no need to book an appointment. (That is if you are travelling with your spouse, if not, guess you have to apply for a tourist visa) Hassle-free =)
