Just managed to book a great deal from Cathay pacific for £475 for departures in jan..I actually thought it was my cheapest flight to the phil but last year i managed to get a flight with philippine airlines for £425, but I'd rather fly with Cathay pacific than with Phil airlines at least i will get some entertainment and more than 2 glasses of water on a 14 hr flight..

I used to work for Morrisions and it was usually difficult to get these bargains because it usually took about a week to approve my holiday request, but my new job at Waitrose ( 2 weeks in) they approved my holiday within 24 hours, Just awesome..and I get 25 % discount on national express travel with the john lewis patnership.. feeling happy to see my wife, and it was off the cuff decision to go and see her as I am applying for spouse visa in Apr/ May and the mounting cost of it all plus having to move out of my parents etc..I was originally going to make the sensible decision and just save my money but my last vacation was rubbish because I went in May and it was soooo hot , and we just avoided going out until around 4 pm..I wanted my last vacation to the philippines ( possibly) to go out on a high as i like to roam especially on a scooter.. anyway im going yipeeee

Good job! Thanks for letting us know.

January is actually the best time to fly. Cheap flights and if you are heading to ph - the weather is at its coldest (still tropical, of course).

I think you can (and should be ?) looking forward to many more visits to the Philippines if you are marrying a Filipina. Enjoy. :like:

thanks..it will be my 9th visit to the Philippines to date, and the only place I haven't visited is Boracay.. I always try to steer away from very touristy spots as it jacks up the price of hotels etc and only last year I spent a week in Puerta Galera and i was amazed how expensive it was.I've noticed over the years that the philippines have become more expensive each time i've visited ..
