CFO Clarification

    Hello,

Just want to clarify something for my friend. If you remember I helped someone in the EEA Family Permit application and last week the FP was granted. However, only the wife got the permit as the application for the 4-month-old daughter wasn't made that time.

A separate FP application for the child will be lodged on the 3rd week of this month.

I understand that the child doesn't need to attend the guidance counselling. The mother will be attending the seminar soon and get the CFO sticker.

Question: Will the baby need the CFO sticker as well? Or no? (The baby doesn't have the visa yet. It's still on the process).

I checked the CFO website but nothing is in there. (Or I'm just blind. lol ;) )

    Thanks ;) !!!

I think at one time in the UK the baby went on the mothers passport, nowadays a baby has to have its own passport in the UK but is only valid for five years.

I was wondering if babies in the Philippines have their own passports.

Yes, infants have passport too. And it's a requirement for his TB Test, yes they have to undergo a tb test too. I recently got my baby his passport. :)

Hi @PatVen! I read in another forum that kids under 12 don't need to attend the seminar but still need the sticker. So I am guessing the parent needs to bring the kid's passport and any pertinent document, pay the fee and then they can get the sticker.

Thanks @firew0myn. I've read the same info as well but the CFO's response to a mother who asked the same question is a bit confusing. It seems that the CFO is not sure if the child needs to have a sticker or not. So it turned out that it was the mother's discretion to do it to avoid complications at the airport.

I think it is safe to do the same as well. The only problem is that my friend's wife is flying from Silay to Manila for the VFS appointment for her baby and at the same time she planned to have her seminar and get the CFO sticker for her passport except for the baby as the latter doesn't have the visa yet. This would mean that they have to return to the CFO to get the sticker for the baby.

The child needs a CFO sticker in their passport. Infants have their own passports. They do not appear on a parents passport any longer. That practice was stopped some years ago.
The child does not need to attend the guidance session if under the age of 12.

I went through the same thing with 2 children when my wife applied.
Yes the web site is confusing. I seem to recall that you have to make the child appointment on a different web link to the adult one.

    See this link:
    https://cfo.ph/PDOS_Reservation/
And in particular the little thing on the right that says 'who is exempted..'

when I booked the PDOS I recall booking the seminar for my wife (under spouses of foreign nationals) on one web site and then booking the two children I think on this site. One was over the age of 12 and required to attend a seminar. The other was under 12 and was not required to attend the seminar but documentation was required for the sticker. It's all a bit confusing to be honest.

HI @ChoiAndJohn Did your wife apply for a visa with her dependents? I just wonder aside from the passport, tb test and cfo sticker, what other documents should I get for my baby?

The child needs a full visa application with all the same documents as the mother apart from the IELTS language test. I posted a thread about an application for wife and step children here which contains a lot of info.

    http://www.british-filipino.com/ind...successful-category-f-visa-application.11096/

Assuming you did that already then child needs passport with entry clearance and cfo sticker to travel. I do suggest that you keep TB test certificates and other documents with you just in case of questions by entry officer but we had no issues.
