Could someone please explain to me step by step the requirements for the CFO appointment? I'm confused by the documents that are required and about getting them stamped by the PH government. I would have to travel to London (from Scotland) if things require notarising so could someone please explain so I have time to plan all of this in? Also, is it easier to get an appt online? I've seen lots of horror stories. We're currently applying to submit for a fiance visa but we have a tight timeline to get everything in order due to when our wedding has been booked, thank you
From what I recall, my wife had her CFO appointment in Davao, 1. Book your appointment. 2. attend with confirmation notice . 3. with the required documents, which were at that time, Passport, Visa. 4. photo id. I went with her and waited at an inside waiting room whilst she had her appointment, their is nothing to worry about, it was basically a short question and answer counselling session covering what, where and when she/he arrives in the destination country ie basic information for the applicant, and at the end of the session the CFO sticker was put in the passport, at that time there was nothing about notarising documents.
I have just read the additional documents that MAY be required I would suggest you copy the same documents that you are using for your visa application.
okay this makes sense. He will have all the documents from me anyway as we're just emailing back and forth with what we need. once the visa is approved hopefully that'll be enough to satisfy the CFO officers because if it was accepted by the ECO officer here in the UK then it should be satisfying enough ~ just as long as things dont require being notarised by the embassy...
CFO can be done online now that’s book and attend online as per my previous response on another thread, Online is your friend, nothing to be notirised
My wife completed her CFO today. She does not have her passport and is waiting for her spouse visa to come through. The most important document to take is marriage certificate. As Heathen stated, take everything you have to be safe. And, yes, nothing to worry about it’s a mostly “being lectured at” 2 hours. But unfortunately you need it and cannot leave the country without the sticker. By all accounts they no longer issue certificates, you get an attendance slip which allows you to go back, without an appointment, walk in and collect your sticker, when you get your passport/visa it was a complete pain getting an appointment though- see my previous thread about this
Is it something that can be done prior to getting the visa or is it just easier to book online once the visa has come through?
For us is was easier to get it done before, while your waiting for the visa to come. You can still attend, they give you an attendance slip so that you just go back with your passport for the sticker once you have your visa
I am not sure how the online version is going to work. Talking to the other half, the CFO have extended this requirement and even youngsters who are going to live abroad have to do CFO. She said there were kids like 3 and 4 there today. How on earth are they going to cope on line ♂️
Yes that’s how we did it in 2015, now allegedly to make it simpler it can all be done online from registration to attendance to getting the certificate. I guess a lot depends on location access to a pc etc
Yes my wife’s daughter had to attend one in 2017 to come here. It’s children between 13 and 19 only younger children than 13 do not do one
Her description of the amount of people there today, it makes sense to do it online if possible. It was mayhem according to her
I'll get my SO to have a look into it in the next few days then. We havent even submitted for our fiancee visa yet but it would be nice to have as much understanding as possible. At least if he can do it online and receive the sticker at a later date it makes things a whole lot easier than panic rushing everything
thank you for this, very informative. I assume they tailor it to the country you'll be migrating too since this video specified about moving to the US
