Well that is an improvement regards sharing music. With movies do you have to use itunes? Can you just keep them in a folder and use a player such as GOM etc to play them so bypassing the 5 device limit?

Not disagreeing that apple aren't good in some respects it just seems as if What hifi tend to disregard other more capable brands. That is a very impressive set up there (puts mine to shame :( ). When I moved my CD's to a NAS drive it did alter the sound somewhat but after the inclusion of the DAC it seems to be close to how it was before.

Question for you. If I went over to apple could I still use a program like EAC to rip my CD's in FLAC format and store them on my NAS. I'm just thinking about this because I've already gor a few hundred Cd's on my NAS and it already formatted. If I moved over to apple would I have to re-format and start all over again?

Hmm strong arguement, you're making me think now.

The wife and I both have iphones for work and I do miss the idea of across the board connectivity.

Might turn out that way!! I'll be honest Mark has actually given me a few things to think about. Apple don't appear to be as restrictive as they where before.

Right after talking to a few blokes here at work and weighing up the options (versitility, costs, what I'm actually going to use it for) I've decided after payday at the end of this month (which can't come soon enough!!) I've decided to get a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition.
I know you'll all sleep easier tonight

    Not an apple fanboy :D

The note is just too big for me personally, but a friend has one and they're a great bit of kit!

Yes, not a phone that you can slip into your top pocket, too readily. Or back pocket, for that matter. Unless you have big pockets. :D

Well for me its to carry in my hand luguage to watch tv shows on at work and a few other bits and bobs instead of lugging my laptop about which I swear has gained weight in the 4 years I've had it?! I will stick to the iphone for now because facetime works at work but as soon as I find another similiar app that works that is available on andriod I'll swap.

Have you considered the iPad Mini for such a purpose? Fits nicely in one hand but bigger than the Note.

I think the specs for the Samasung are considerably better arent they? Especailly for screen resolution and processing power.

Got the wife a 5c before we went to the Phils. Cant see any difference between that and the more expensive model or my standard 5! Truth be told not a bad phone but buy a 16Gb one and case and a screen protector and there ain't alot of change left from £500!!! Still maintain they are 20-25% over priced across their product range.

Definitely not cheap. How does that compare with the Samsung equivalent?

To be honest its been a while since I had a samsung. I'm stuck with apple phones at the moment because i can use facetime at work and other eqvilant apps are blocked. I think they take up too much band width. As iI've mentioned before though if I found an facetime like app that worked at work on an andriod based phone i'd ditch these like a shot. Trouble is, with these apple phones costing so much I want a good few years (5-7) of use out them to feel I got somewhere my money worth out of them.

cost wise I think Samsung are about £100 cheaper across the board. Thereis also HTC don't forget. I had a Desire for a good few years and it only started to show its age because it wasn't capable of software updates like the later models are.

I have always been under the impression Stu, that the Galaxy S4 16GB is about the same price.
