Little bit of an over reaction Rico, Kuya is just being practical, all of us here test any new site before we trust it, none of us are so rich that we can afford to lose money and there are a lot of well known and trusted money transfer sites that are used by members here. I am sure Kuya did not intend any offence!

I agree with Kuya it is nice that it is actually a Filipino money transfer company and I am actually fairly sure I have heard of or seen it mentioned when I have been over in the Philippines, however for me personally the payout locations are not good so I would be unlikely to try it, they don't cover my locality in Manila, but I would welcome feedback from anyone who has used them!

We recently got informed that our regular remittance company had some issue due to Barclays Bank suspending the accounts of all MSB's (Money Service Businesses)

We noticed that an outfit called Lucky Money was advertising on TFC

I've checked out their website, RoE's and charges and it looks pretty good.
Anyway, I was able to register online (which is nice as it saves a trip to London) but not yet sent any money.

We need to send a significant sum, just I'm feeling wary.

Anyone here used them ? Know of them? etc
    Appreciate any input.

We have been using World remit for a while, easy to set up online. Money delivered immediately, recipient gets a text..... Easy peasy...

Cheaper than most.............. On occasions one get a code for free transfers emailed.

And the rates are more favorable than WU and/or others

Somehow Lucky Money seems to take me to WorldRemit or a version of their site Peter, if I were you I would just go their ordinary site https://www.worldremit.com/en/home and see if your sign-on details still work, if so it is the same company and they are fine I use them all the time for fairly large sums of money.

Their security is better than most and they will block a transaction if anything seems dodgy, for instance you are sending from a UK account from outside the UK. That happened to me and I just called them and explained the situation and they released my transfer without a problem, good company.

Just make sure that if you have already registered with Lucky Money that your logon details work on the above link otherwise it might be a clone site with something dodgy in the URL (for example unicode characters that disguise a fake address).

To be honest I think it is safe I just tried manually adding philippines to the above URL and arrived at the same page as Lucky Money :)

P.S. Peter transfers via WorldRemit direct to Metrobank are instant, transfers to other banks were taking only a few hours up till the last major flood in Manila, after that transfers of over 19,999 peso, direct to a bank account, were taking up to a week, in one case more. Cash transfers to Cebuana or M'Lhuillier are instant (almost, the money is available after the second confirmation email from WorldRemit).

Wonder if that suspension is related to this article? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-24739859

Why? That was just a small over reaction and misunderstanding.

We don't do things like that here, just for disagreements and/or misunderstandings.
