We spent a good day at Chester Zoo today. Weather was great reaching 19 degrees. Anyhow, my wife and I were surprised to see both the critically endangered Visayan Warty Hog and Philippine Deer at the zoo. Mrs Ash thoroughly enjoyed the day there. From wikipedia: "The Visayan warty pig, Sus cebifrons, is a critically endangered species of pig. The Visayan warty pig is endemic to two of the Visayan Islands in the central Philippines, and is threatened by habitat loss, food shortages and hunting – these are the leading causes of the Visayan warty pig's status as critically endangered. Due to the small numbers of remaining Visayan warty pigs in the wild, little is known of their behaviors or characteristics outside of captivity."
You not been before? It isnt a bad zoo. It was, however, £40 for the two of us to get in ( i think baby was free) .
I have been there "ad nauseam" , and it always leaves me disappointed. The place, to me, is a disgrace.... I meant, really, that with a little bit of co-ordination and planning, we could have met up for coffee and a chinwag somewhere, while letting the women loose in debenhams or TKMX........
Cheshire Oaks is a bit of a luxury for us as the I of Man is quite poor for retail outlets , comparitively. Funny you should mention TKMax as my wife seems to love it.
Taken through glass at chester zoo. Havent had the time to load it up till now. Reminds me of the song:
