My stepdaughter is presently in he Philippines putting together all the paperwork required to bring her 3 year old son to join her in the UK. She came to UK in April 2012 and has indefinite leave to enter as visa was granted in Philippines. She has full parental custody of her son and has Red Ribbon paperwork from Department of Foreign Affairs stating her son has permission to travel and full parental custody of her son. The son's father has given up all his rights to the child and said child was looked after by my step daughter grandparent until she went back to Philippines in November 2014. My questions are Does she need to meet the financial obligations Does the child need to have a TB test Does the child need to go to counselling session Does she need to get DSWD permission to travel for her son What Visa category should she apply for bring her son to UK Child under 18 years of age or Joining family All help gratefully appreciated Thanks
I believe the child will have to attend an approved TB test clinic but will not necessarily have the chest x ray, see the link below. You can bring her to the UK under the child joining family visa as you have suggested. The children do not need CFO counselling (under 12 yrs. old) but the parent of the child does. Im a mother of a child joining to a family in UK, at the momment im applying my FLR. Regarding the CFO seminar, i already have my CFO Sticker, is my child 3yrs old passport still need a CfO Sticker, though im already done the seminar and i already have my sticker.
