I migrated to the UK six years ago .I am settled in the UK and hold (ILR).I want to bring my kids from oversea and I want a clarification about the rule as regards financial requirement .Are my kids exempted from the minimum income threshold .I have read several times the immigration rule but I get confused becos it is a bit complicated.Pls shed more light on the financial requirement the kids need to meet.Tnx
This is something I dont know much about. I do know that if a Filipina applies for a spouse visa with an additional child that doesnt hold a UK passport, then the finacial requirement of the sponsor ( hubby ) goes up from £18600 per year to just over £22,000 per year. But I dont know what happens in the case where the Filipina mother is already in the UK.
Sadly, you will not be excempt from the minimum income rule. What citizenship do you and your child hold?
This looks like the form.... https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/261439/vaf4a1.pdf
My guess is that the sponsor would still have to satisfy the requirent of £22,400 pa ie the minimum requirement, plus the first additional child additional requirement. Plus the further £2400 for a second additional child. Grand total : £24, 800. Just a guess. I will phone a man that knows on monday if you dont find out in the meantime. Yes. As Kuya indicates. What citizenship do the 2 children hold?
The kids hold Nigeria Passport and live in Nigeria. I also hold a Nigerian passport with a settled status in the UK (ILR)and have been living in the UK in the last 6 years .Tnx for all your reply.Unfotunately my income in a year is £15,500
You said "kids" earlier, so I assume you have two or more. For the first child you need to show an annual income of at least £22,400 and an additional £2,400 for each subsequent child. However you can apply savings and that is calculated as being at least £16,000 + 2.5 times the shortfall (ie: the required income level minus your annual salary. In your case and for two children this is: £16,000 + £28,250 = £44,250 (the shortfall being £11,300). For each additional child you'd need an extra £6,000 in savings.
