Hi all, Firstly well done to all of you with success stories, keep going to those who are finding it tough and good luck to those who have yet to embark on the visa process. Thanks too for all the help and support I have gained from here. I've just booked a IELTS Test for my Mrs and we got a confusing email back: Please note that your actual test day may be scheduled 1 to 3 days after the test date. You will receive an email from us containing your final exam schedule. If you do not receive the notification, please contact us no later than three days before the test. Obviously if this really is the case booking flights and hotel for 'er indoors would be very difficult. Has anyone had their test on a different day to the one booked? Thanks in advance.
My wife had hers done in may in cebu we had the same thing when booking the test but a week before the test they confirmed via text to her that the date they originally gave her was comfirmed
In my experience, after booking and payment, I havent heard feom them not until one week before the exam date they gave me full details and exact date for each tests (speaking, listening & writing)
We received notification of date some time after the application. I would personally wait until you receive that before you book flights and/or hotels.
I just want to share my experience with with the british council (they are the only accredited testing center in ph). I have booked exam in cebu but they called me 2 weeks before the test date informing me that there arent enough in candidates and i will have to take it in manila with the same exam date. They booked and paid for the return ticket to manila and reimburse me on my dvo-ceb-dvo ticket. A friend who teaches in ielts review center said this is the most basic type. If you want a scale, they said the exam is a 4/10 difficulty while on ave most ph have an ielts scale of 6/10 so it should be easy enough.
@Timmers is right you will pass the test with flying colours. I am very surprised I paid ten thousand pesos for that test I wasn't even sweating. Lol jk. You can try a free test online on their site so you know what to expect. Good luck
Aside from the British council, there is another learning center that is accredited. You will be fine. unless you only learned to speak English last week there could be a problem. I have never heard of anybody here failing the life skills exam.
Really. Haha. Did you take that exam in the end? If 10k is already a rip off for me I can only imagine how you feel with the 16k.
I just put in mind that its worth it in the end. Yeah took it and got a rate that will suffice when I apply for FLr.
I feel bit nervous lol. when is your trip to UK? I'm currently here in England for 3 months holiday.. then when we get back to Phil I'll take ielts after the wedding xx
We will be flying on December 22nd. As long as your regularly speak English with your partner, you'll be fine with the exam, I'm Sure.
