my wifes daughter--now in her 20's--finished university last year--then had to do a review lasting a further 6 months--which she failed. so now has to do the whole review over again. but she cant--thanks to the covid lockdown. so she is sat on her arse at home--being kept by mum...for how much longer ?

Moonshot mass testing. The government aims to test the entire population in one week!

Should be under the UK thread but let us remember that the 'Moonshot' took just over 8 years :)

    Tragic :(

About 13 years ago, we were visited by a young lad in similar shape, the previous year he was strong and healthy, but basically he had fallen on hard times, no job, no money, no food.

He got better thank god but events like that happen and it is likely very bad for the overall lifespan of such individuals.

May I ask is this lad a Covid victim?

My wife was always peeved by karaoke machines and the cockerels, where she lived in Dasmarinas, Cavite. I am not sure I would have enjoyed living under those conditions. Coincidently the Remullas had a direct hand in paying for my wife’s education at the university nearby and her high school fees. One of the Remulla sisters is married to Mrs Ash’s mother’s employer. My wife seems to think Jonvic Remulla is a good man.

I notice the Covid 19 death rate (Worldometers) is climbing still. Don’t know how accurate it is.

I'm inclined to believe the relatively low death rate in the Philippines if they were hiding anything there would anecdotal leaks and I would expect to be hearing news from my family about unreported local deaths.

They are not doing a lot of testing so it is hard to tell if the lockdown is succeeding or if it is just a result of the young demographic of the country or some other factor, it's rainy season so one might expect viruses to be spreading more now which might account for the uptick, countries like The Philippines certainly show that there is still plenty of population to be infected and given the opportunity this thing will expand anywhere it can.

Overall the Philippine death rate is a good bit higher than it was 5 months ago.

I guess people will get lost, and meander aimlessly as nobody is able to give directions with pursed lips anymore...
