Yeah, that's how long it takes, you have to leave a stamped addressed special delivery envelope at the Embassy in London for them to post it to you.

Earlier I went to the Post Office to get a pre paid special delivery envelope but the Indian lad behind the counter got all confused as to what I wanted so I told him to forget it. I did tell him to double the weight paid for just to make sure the carriage would be covered but he didn't understand.

You think they would include delivery in the cost of the passport wouldn't you?

This is what my loved one keeps on saying. Guess we will be processing my passport renewal after the wedding.

Thank you for your helpful link, one world :)

    Your welcome Anne

My wife has just received her new passport in Phil, its taken 6 weeks and immediately went and obtained TB cert (booked online the day before, no waiting),so at last we have reached the stage to be able to compile visa application.... Only taken 6 months from wedding day... but feels more like 2 years...

You'll get to it, one world. There's a lot to learn on the process. We literally prepared our visa application for 2 years.

How did your wife's experience go with IOM?

The visit to International Organisation for Migration Health Centre in Manila, evidently was straight forward, usual
queuing, x-ray, then receive certificate giving the all clear.

Probably the simplest of all the processes required so far.

Hello TomC. Have you applied for your 1st FLR yet?

Hi Anne. Yes thanks. I had to have a day off work in the end, to fill in the form and collate the evidence. Then a few weeks later we got leave to remain :) So that's out of the way for a couple of years. Hooray!

As someone suggested, we had to change our gas supplier to get my wife's name on the gas bill. That then provided the 'evidence' needed to open a bank account. I don't see that any of this paperwork would be harder for fraudsters to obtain than a genuinely married couple.

It's good to know you and your loved one already sorted out all the necessary documents, TomC. :)

I also got the same issue in obtaining proof of correspondence whilst applying for my FLR. Anyway, I have been granted 2.5years to remain and just had my BRP :like:
