David edited his post, I think he reread my comment and realised that I was saying that NTSC is both the over the air and cable broadcast standard in the Philippines, I wasn't talking about UK standards.
The rest of his post I agree with completely.
In fact I tried to delete a post as I had already posted it, but for some reason I couldn't delete it, so I had to go with c. It could have been a or b
Yeah sorry we introduced restrictions quite a while ago on who could delete what, we might review those settings and relax them again.
Ahha my favourite subject electronics, LG sets have both Pal and NTSC compatibility but they are generally heavy and of poor reliability.
Personally Id opt for a polaroid set from Asda the supermarket, I wonder if the Philippines has a Walmart same company handy for the guarantee maybe,
the led sets are low priced and very light weight for posting long distances.
weve used them in the uk for years and they are 100% reliable.
Ive spent very silly money on plasma tv sets costing around three thousand quid
and the cheaper Polaroid sets are very hard to beat for features and reliability in comparison.
Philippines does not have a Walmart but it has stores that sell TV's. I bought a Samsung smart TV 50 " 3 years ago, 4k resolution Not sure how much it cost!
The thing about 4k resolution is that very few broardcasters actually broardcast it.
I think Sky is the only broardcaster currently using 4k broardcasts on their Movie channels.
many of the 4k sets upscale to 4k so paying the extra money can be a bit hit and miss.
I also heard that only 20% of the worlds population can actually see the difference in picture quality.according to TV engineers the older you get past the age of 40 the less likely you are able to see the difference between 720p and HD, let alone ultra high definition ie 4k. Samsung however is a good choice for reliability, probably the best available currently.
There is quite a lot of 4K content available on Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube. Bein Sports also broadcasts in 4K. In order to appreciate the higher resolution available, it will be necessary to increase the screen size over what you would probably opt for. My Samsung 4K curved screen is terrific.
