Could you live without a smartphone?

I have noticed that my young daughter becomes unhappy when she has used her smartphone.
She had so many social apps on there and she was taking her phone to her bedroom when she was told not to.
I had to confiscate her phone this week and told her that I will be deleting many of her apps when she gets it back.
She became morose when she was using her smartphone.
Smartphones can be such a problem for youngsters who don't seem to have the ability to choose the right discussions easily.
