The loony left is about to shoot itself in the foot, again, by laying the groundwork to deselect Thangam Debbonaire, the Bristol West MP and cancer survivor who won the second highest number of Labour votes in Britain. An amendment to Labour’s constitution – intended to make it easier to challenge and deselect sitting MPs – was backed by local Momentum members last night. That move is expected to be repeated across the country, meaning the deselection amendment will likely be debated at conference in September. A Labour source told the Bristol Post:

"It’s scandalous that a clique of Jeremy Corbyn supporters refuse to accept the huge mandate that Thangam received at the general election."

Debbonaire managed to increase her majority to 37,336 – the fourth biggest in the UK as a whole – up from 5,673 in 2015. That despite battling cancer during the last parliament.

Totally unrelated to the above, one does wonder how long Channel 4 can continue to employ its senior news anchor, Jon Snow, following the refusal of Conservative politicians to appear on his show citing fears of a lack of impartiality following his "F**k the Tories" public outburst at Glastonbury. Further evidence of Snow's anti-Tory bias are emerging including this eye-witness account of his behaviour during Maggie Thatcher's funeral:

"When I attended Thatcher‘s funeral I was standing on Ludgate Hill in the City of London waiting for the cortege to pass towards St Paul’s Cathedral. Jon Snow and his Channel 4 News camera team barged through the crowds to get to the front to rig up their camera. While making his way through the crowd Mr Snow was shouting “anti-Thatcher brigade coming through”, so his recent remarks come as no surprise."

The vote and resulting increase in the Majority was due as well to Jeremy Corbin ,the Manifesto and Momentum support knocking on doors not only in this constituency but in many many others Peter Kyle for example in Hove.

I think you are confused Mark the Labour Party Members are entitled to democratise it since it belongs to them the wonderfull thing is that even you ,looney right as you are could apply to join and have your say unlike the Tories we dont do coronations:p

You are woefully mistaken, Keith. My daughter and her Labour-supporting live-in boyfriend reside in Thangham Debbonaire's constituency. I am told she is a very good constituency MP, hard-working and conscientious but she's not liked at all by you hard left Momentum supporters. She has, I'm told, received quite some abuse for being both a moderate and a woman from hard left activists. Momentum activists have, apparently, infiltrated Bristol West CLP and seek to defenestrate their MP replacing her someone more in-tune with revolutionary Marxism.

Thanks, but no thanks. I was a card-carrying member of the Labour party many years ago. My dalliance with the left was quite brief and will never, ever be repeated. Besides I'm in the process of joining UKV&PP.

Oh - with regard to coronations, you're confusing the Tories with the Lib Dems. Theresa May was elected by her party and more recently by the country.

Well spotted and like a typical hypocrit you also avoided the underlying truth of my statement She was neither elected by her party nor Parlimentary Party but crowned when the last other candidate killed her self with the press and stood down:sick::poop:

Again there's no such thing as the Conservative Parliamentary Party. There's the Conservative Party and .... that's it! However, for avoidance of doubt (on your part), last year Mrs May was elected according to the rules of the Conservative Party where she won most votes in the first round, as Leadsom dropped-out, Mrs May was duly elected. And she was further elected by a majority of the electorate at the begining of this month.

Just to be as pendantic as you it was a minority (43%)of the electorate that voted for may:p

That's inaccurate as well!! You should have said: 43% of the electorate who voted at the general election voted for Mrs May. Still rather more than voted for your geriatric Marxist dreamer and his magic money trees. :p
