I was reading today that a number of British MPs employ members of their family as PA's and secretaries etc. Being the sceptical sort of chap I am on issues such as this it does make you wonder whether the family members employed do any real work at all for their salary, which is paid by the British tax payer of course. No doubt they are receiving tax concessions too. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-politics-37847086
I would assume that the appointment process and salary paid are well controlled. Better to look at this from the wider viewpoint. If you are running your own limited company then you might well find it more convenient to employ a trusted family member in a position such as secretary.
That's the point, on paper I employ my wife but there is one obvious reason why I do that and its called tax
I've no issue with this, I'd look at employing family where I could. The issue I have is if the spouse of a MP wins government contracts or say Theresa Mays husband who is a major shareholder in G4S.
Timmers I am surprised at you! You haven't been drinking your Kool-Aide: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-27115043
This is good work if you can get it too, talking a load of claptrap does pay http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-37866413
