I doubt it..the application is dealt with quickly.. decision in 10 days..no time to check anything. The slightest doubt and the decision is a refusal...that's how it works.

Hello @bigmac. They actually called my bank, and my employer today. That makes me wonder if they give a call to the sponsors too.

I think they do random checks and its not for everyone applying for any visa. If it is done for everyone, it would take forever for any visa to be issued.

So they might not call your sponsor, but they might call your bank or your employer - basically double checking any certificate you have provided to them. They know how easy it is to get any certificate from Recto.

Hi @Shane2189 , I've never yet heard of the sponsor being called , but they do often contact the applicants employer I think . If they have for you , and also your bank , that shows that they are working on your application now . It could be a good sign .

Some of the costs will have gone up since I looked at it in 2017... we are in the Philippines and would be applying from here

    Health Surcharge will be £1200 x 2 = £2400 and not £1200 (increase from April 2018)

So new total cost at least £9,084.50

I suspect the figure Bigmac quoted is based on an application from the UK and not including the increased Health Surcharge...
