e-Visa... confused - is it still needed???

As my Wife now has BC - and a British passport, in her Married name - does she still require an e-Visa?

The reason I ask is, after receiving her British passport in her Married name (initially refused Married name, but eventually approved after providing more evidence - which wasn't asked for at the time of applying for the passport, despite asking WHAT NAME she wanted in the British passport!) I thought we had better update the name on her e-Visa record (still in Maiden name) as is required for a BRP etc.
Change of Name form downloaded from -

    https://www.gov.uk/update-uk-visas-immigration-account-details/update-your-ukvi-account

    - completed and sent, with evidence (British passport in Married name), to the address on the form (somewhere in Liverpool)...

Yesterday she received the following email (from an EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) email address???!!!) - wrongly addressed, despite them having her British passport in her Married name already! -

"Thank you for submitting your document to be updated.

It has been noted that you have requested for your details to be updated. The document you have provided is a British Passport. This means that you already have British citizenship and do not need to update your details.

Your status will be linked to your current nationality passport which is valid up until the date of expiry should you wish to continue using it to travel.

Your documents will be returned to you.
    "

The last paragraph is puzzling/worrying... although her Philippines passport is valid until 2032, she is no longer a Philippines citizen, so I presume she couldn't use it anyway?

As usual the email is from a 'NoReply' address and contact is only allowed by 'phone.

So I guess my question is, with BC and a British passport (in Married name), is the e-Visa now irrelevant regardless of the fact that the e-Visa/UKVI record is still in her Maiden name?

    TIA

i wouldnt worry about it--the evisa system is a total cock up anyway. Those on 3 year work visas are most affected

Not required she is a British citizen and passport holder, e visa are for immigration status, your wife's immigration status ended when she became a British citizen.
I think there are 2 systems that should be joined up but evidently are not! Ignore it and carry on

I tend to agree - I much preferred her having a 'physical' BRP...

    Thanks.

You're right about systems not using 'joined-up thinking'!
My main concern was about when we first venture overseas - next year - if Passport/Border Control did any cross-referencing checks, similar to her employer doing a Right to Work check (which they seem to do every few months!), and found her Passport name is different from her UKVI/e-Visa record!

Will put it out of my mind until such time as it becomes a problem... Just the various Change of Name processes - e.g. Driving Licence - to deal with now.
    Hopefully I won't forget anything!

Don't forget her birthday, your wedding anniversary, valentines day and the day she became a British citizen and you will be OK
