Finally, yesterday, got my fingers out and collated the evidence paperwork needed for my stepdaughter's EEA residence Card application.

What confused me at first was the fact that I didn't have to Send it to Lunar House in Croydon, but to a PO Box in Liverpool.....:erm:
But as the address was on the form itself, who the heck am I to argue the point...?

Anyway, the trip to the post office was marred by the fact that the security envelopes used, and postal charges came to nearly 13 quid..N.:erm:

Now is going to be the waiting and wondering game, was it all in order, was it all sufficient, did I forget or omit anything important...???

I can do without the stress really, it is just half a day gone since I sent the stuff, and it is already doing my head in.........:erm:

Wonder how I will feel a few weeks down the line...............:erm:

Hope you get it fairly soon. I understand the UKBA is overstretched right now so don't expect a quick turnaround..

Good luck Dom, hadn't quite registered in my head that you and Jet still had outstanding family immigration issues, all the best and I'm sure you will keep us up to date on the EEA route, this is a very interesting and important exercise of those EEA rights!

Wish you all the best with your stepdaughters residence application , my stepdaughter had hers refused a few weeks ago -we thought we had everything in order but they were not happy with the dependency issue - we are now waiting on an appeal. Good luck:like:

sorry to hear that. it is normally a breeze, as far as I know, for EEA dependants.

tell us more if you want, please... So that future applicants may learn. :like:

She is a student, never worked, and we showed evidence of money given by me and transferred to her account .Now for her appeal we are just going to show more of the same .I do not know what more proof they are looking for .

What did, the actual refusal notes say...??

I take it that she hasn't arrived yet, then...?

Yeah she has been here on the family permit for the past 6 months ,since then she has turned 21 . It said she showed no evidence of dependency .:erm:

    Stupid statement, that...............:der:

If she didn't show to have dependency, how the heck did they give her a family permit, to come over, to start off with...???:erm:

If they mess up again on appeal, I would get a decent immigration Lawyer and take UKBA to the cleaners.

She was under 21 when she got the family permit- no proof of dependency , now that she is over 21 they need proof of dependency

What a ridiculous set of circumstances...

She is here, she arrived legally and above board, before her 21st and now, a few months down the line, they are splitting hairs...???

I think it is disgraceful of UKBA.

"Right to family life" comes to mind.

Two months have gone by, and not even a word of aknowledgement from UKBA...

When I applied for Jet's first residence card, we received a letter from them, after 3 weeks, stating her right to work and all that blarney.....

The stuff has been delivered, as I tracked it via the post office website.

So my opinion is that as we don't have to pay for it, we may as well wait and stew....

Be prepared to wait for up to six months , I called them after 5 months daily, I was told that I should not be calling up so often , then they said it had been dispatched 2 months previously , luckily I had enclosed a prepaid tracked envelope for the return of the documents , checked with royal mail it was not in the system , home office then called me at 7pm to tell me it was returned to them and they would dispatch it immeadiatly -they obviously never sent it out in the first place - so be prepared :like:

We appealed the decision sucessfully-:like: Now do we send her passport to liverpool or wait until its requested ? How long will that take I wonder! can she travel at the moment with her appeal decision and her passport :erm:as she wants to return to PI for a month or thereabouts until college starts

I would suggest you mail them for instructions first.

I don't think she would be able to leave the country until the passport is returned.

    We are still waiting....................
