    Hello,

I'm looking for employment in Dubai, is it possible to get one while staying here?

How long would it take to process the work visa?

    Thank you.

At what stage are you on the UK immigration route?

    Hello!

You can of course get employment while you are there.

Employment visa depends on the employer and their HR dept. Some organized ones inside a freezone area can process visa in as quick as a week! But if the companies' HR is lazy it can be as long as forever, lol (mine took three months at one point).

But then as british, you can easily drive towards oman (like musandam area just near emirate of ras al kaimah), make a U turn and have that tourist visa renewed.

Sorry i was under the impression that you are a british citizen relocating to dubai.

If you are on a tourist visa and looking for work, it can be done. The employer will have to switch your visa to working. But a word of caution, some employers are taking advantage of the tourist visa status. They would say they are processing your visa but they would just want free work from you for a few days/weeks until your visa runs out and you are forced to leave the country.

Make sure its a proper company and you sign a contract first before handing them your passport for 'processing'.

On what grounds? Are you currently living in the EEA/EU, have income and health insurance?

I am currently here in the UK and still within the timeframe of my appeal rights.I arrived on EEA FP last year.

I am currently in the process of addressing the refusal on the grounds of sponsor's failure to produce the medical certificate and also prior employment before incapacity as we thought that appointment letters, DLA, and the like are enough proof of his cessation of activity apart from the DLA mobility component letters from DWP and records of involuntary unemployment and National Insurance).

So, these are the two items to address the refusal. And appeal rights are only allowed under Regulations 36 on EEA Regulations 2017 updated last November.

We are also encouraged to make further application as long as we have enough evidence to prove eea national exercising treaty rights prior to permanent incapacity.

Also, we are given option to apply under the 5, 10 year route under UK immigration rules.

We had already set an appointment with a solicitor on Wednesday next week. And the medical certificate will be sorted by hubby's doctor next week.

We are taking into consideration the permanent residency of hubby since he's been here for 35+ years already.

So at the moment while waiting for next week's appointments, I'm formulating plans a, b, c and d ..

In terms of my personal income, still unemployed as employers run a mile when they see that you don't have RC. They need loads of documents and Certificate of Application is not enough for them. So, I decided to wait until RC is granted, but bad luck happened......hehe...

I already have some job interview invitations, however, my status is preventing me to get the job.

Thanks for the comfort Timmers..:)..Very much appreciated.

Everything is really in the hands of the solicitor on how he is going to address the refusal letter. I admit that it's really a very complicated case that needs an expert immigration lawyer.

I just spotted this one case of an Uganda national case in 2010 https://tribunalsdecisions.service.gov.uk/utiac/2010-ukut-447.

After reading this case, I can see a possible argument on the caseworker's assumption about 'temporary' and 'permanent' incapacity that wasn't specificied in our cover letter.

This, I think, will be played by our solicitor. We haven't seen the solicitor yet. For sure, he would spot this one on. I had the cover letter to back the possible argument up.

To be honest, only very few people had this kind of mind boggling case.
