Hi, My fiancée's Settlement/Marriage Visa refusal letter advises she's required taking the "English Language Test (A1 Level of European Framework)". On the IELTS website the only English test that clearly states A1 is called "Life Skills, Speaking and Listening". I'm having difficulty confirming if this test is the same one advised on the refusal letter, so We'd be very grateful if someone here could help clarify this, please. My fiancée is applying from the UAE. Thank you!
Thank you! Is that the University on Tariq Bin Ziyad Street, near Dubai TV, that you took your exam? I was put off suggesting that venue to my fiancée cause there were so many poor reviews for it. It's the most local one for her though, so it would be easier for her to travel to. The other one we've been looking at is where the registered office is at Jumeirah, but you take the exam at Wollonbong University, but this will be difficult for her to get to.
They don't make this easy do they! When I select Zayed University on the IELTS website, it shows the location as Tariq Bin Ziyad Street, near Dubai TV.
Dubai TV is 21mins drive from DAC. When I got my IELTS last year, it was in DAC. Maybe they changed the venue. Try to call them.
Hi, We've managed to book the IELTS exam and establish where the venue will be. Can I please ask you if you were told you'd be required to achieve a specific score in your Life Skills exam, cause after much searching I'm unable to find this info (yet the required scores for departments other than UK Immigration are clearly shown). My fiancée's visa refusal letter just says she hasn't "passed" the English test, so it doesn't indicate an expected score... Thank you!
The remarks on the test for IELTS Life Skills A1 will only say “PASS” or “FAIL” they won’t show you a specificic score. The refusal letter simply said she hasn’t passed coz she didn’t submit an English test certificate in the first place.
