Hi All, Hope everyone is well. Having done Schegen tourist visas a few times now I have encountered a new situation. Usually I get given a 6 month visa multiple entry (can stay 90 days max with in the 6 months) But it seems for some reason my wife's latest visa is for 12 months (90 days maximum stay)... That's no good as we will be there for 3 months this summer and then 3 weeks at Christmas. Any thoughts on this ? I thought you could do up to 6 months in the Schegen zone during a 12 month rolling period. Unsure best way to proceed... Any ideas ?
https://www.schengenvisainfo.com/visa-calculator/ Key question is travel dates of both trips. If part of three months is before june then may be ok. If starts in june then dates in june and december will be key. If july, august, september then think have major problem as rule seems to be 90 days in a 180 day period. Think can get non schengen visas which might be option for christmas
Thanks for the reply. Yes 90 days in 180 I understand which is fine. The visa states for 90 days as usual but is valid for 12 months (rather than the usual 180 days) which is what's thrown me. Do we apply for another Schegen visa while this one is still valid then....once 90 days are used and we are past 180 days ?
As i understood it was 90 days in a 180 day period so in theory 90 days at start of visa then another 90 days starting six months after first arrival in zone. This is why dates are key as can only have 90 days during any 180 day period. In theory with a 12 month visa can have two lots of 90 days with 90 days inbetween. In theory with two six month visas still need to maintain the 90 days in a 180 day period requirement Did a bit of googling and realise also need to know if it is single or multiple entry and think if multiple then can do several entries for up to 90 days in any 180 day period https://visasassociation.com/reading-schengen-visa-sticker/
