As we know Filipino ladies like being photographed I am looking for what’s best to “Airdrop” from my wife’s I Pad and our I Phones. Nothing elaborate or high tech just good storage and plug and play.

While I would normally be the expert for photography and storage technology I can't really help in this case as I don't really have any experience Apple kit.

Are you looking for additional storage or for backup storage?

Both, you can buy additional ICloud storage for her I pad but if we lost her IPad we would lose them all hence the external storage need.

I'm confused that you say you would lose them all if you lost the iPad, surely the iCloud backup process is just mirroring the files to online storage so that they exist both on the device and in iCloud storage online.

Do you not also have a conventional Windows PC because if you do you can use iCloud from the PC as well and this would let you have another copy of the files mirrored onto the PC.

I'm not familiar with AirDrop but I understand it is a bluetooth communication system that sets up a point to point wifi network connection but all the Apple cloud features are linked to the user's AppleId so are not tied to the AirDrop feature.

What kind amount of storage do you get from Apple?

I use Microsoft's OneDrive and get 1TB (One Terabyte) of cloud storage, however I'm not using that for my photography although I could, I have a separate annual plan with an online encryption provider that gets me 4TB of secure online storage of which I am using 1TB currently, that storage is in addition to multiple 4TB hard drives (old style spinny drives) and multiple 2TB Samsung NVme SSD's and also my Flickr Accounts but I am excessively paranoid about losing my images.
