Thats great news, really pleased for you and your family. That is a long time to be apart but i'm sure you'll make up for lost time.
Very very happy for you. I'm sure it'll be a great welcome on Sunday. Well done to you all for the determination and tenacity. It's all worth it.
thankyou for the kind words, yeah it was so long to be apart i first applied for the visa early december but they refused because i aint on much money plus they said my wife would struggle to find a job in the current financial climate, but in adding my money up they was including my son but because he,s british by paternity he is exepmt from any visa restrictions and also got a letter from a local buiness owner offering my wife a part time job which helped in overturning the refusal, then i was struggling to get all the requirements for my sons passport, it finally arrived last saturday, im still so stressed with worry until they arrive but im looking forward to being a family again, its gonna be hard for me to adapt cos im used to peace and quiet lol, my son speaks a mix of waray waray tagalog and english so its gonna be fun chatting with him, i know the very basics of waray and tagalog so its a oportunity for me to learn more while he learns my language,i want him to be fully bi/tri lingual if possible and never to forget where he,s from. thankyou for the replies,
Yes fully agree. Do make that special effort to achieve that. I had a good friend who was British and whose wife was Japanese. They both made a determined effort to instill language and cultural skills. It was just unbelieveable to see their son talking to his dad in English and then immediately, mid sentence, turn to his mum and continue in Japanese. Magical really. He spoke English without the hint of any accent and his mum said his Japanese was nearly perfect. Great. So many parents just allow their kids to forget their roots. Language seems to be the first to go.
thanks for the messages, im still so nervous and wont be happy until they are sat on the plane ready to take off, does anyone know the current tax and terminal fee prices my wife says she knows but id like to be sure that she wont get fleeced, cheers
