We have to cover all angles here at BF to get a well rounded picture of this PhilBrit marriage thing (PhilBrit is my new buzz word )

Its the girl who is taking most of the risks coming here.

thats exactly what i'm driving at. we see posts on these forums from starry eyed girls keen to come over here----but---at what cost ?

You do sense sometimes that the odd girl is a little blinkered, I am beginning to see more and more that the CFO does have a role to play.

I am beginning to see more and more that the CFO does have a role to play.

under the old rules--the sad fact was--the girl only had to endure 2 years with her mistake of a lifetime---then she could look forward to a lifetime of living on your income tax donations. not quite so easy now.

To be honest I didn't think Filipinos would want to be on benefits as we all know they love to send money home, I am only assuming though, that lovely word that gets us into trouble from time to time.

I haven't heard many people say that. But you are right.

I say that because of what I have seen here at BF and the loved ones experience of the CFO the other day. She said that one or two of the girls there seemed a little naïve and were wearing rose tinted spectacles regarding living in another country, maybe it was her motherly instinct coming through I don't know.

Oh, there was a ladyboy in her seminar too, took them a while to realise apparently :D. On his way to the UK apparently to some lucky chap, KY in hand no doubt

But, one thing my wife did say that she had no idea that it would be as cold here as it is. She knew it was cold but that cold.

Probably like you I don't regard the UK as a cold country but I already foresee complaints in that department to contend with. I don't want to be in the situation where I am sweating my nuts off and the Mrs is shivering like mad with a duvet round her sat watching telly :)

Mrs M is saying she misses winter at the moment. She's fed up with all this hot weather. No problems at all on that front. She likes it colder because she can sleep really well.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm getting the impression the ladies complain about the weather in summer and winter :)
