Hello everyone... I just want to know if it's really necessary that I'm working to meet the visa requirements because I'm not working at the moment. I'm not studying either and i did not own properties, just a family property which I have a share. I really want to know what else I can do to show them some evidence for my visa aside from employment. BTW, I have a sponsor for my travel and this includes everything (all expenses).

Thank you for any answer, I'm already stressed looking for answers. hehe

I think they will look at the sponsor's financial situation. If the sponsor is earning then they will look at that if they provide their financial details and make it clear that they will financially suport you during your stay.

I'm not 100% certain, but I think you would need confirmation that your sponsor is prepared to support you during your stay and your sponsor would need to provide their financial details.

You might need to provide more evidence that you plan to return home before your visa expires if someone else is supporting you here.

I'm not an expert. It's just what I think so don't take it as 100%.

What you have to focus on is evidence that you will return to the Philippines. That is a big factor that the ECO considers with this type of visa.

For a general tourist visa it isn’t an issue to have a lot of savings in the bank, but you need to be able to show that you’ll be financially capable once in the UK. In other words, if the ECO suspected you might work illegally (and for far less than the minimum wage) then they won’t grant you the visa.

If you’ve got someone willing to say they will pay your way, it can still prove tricky (in case they fall out with you). The ECO wants to know that you will return to the Philippines, have work or a business to go home to and have a reasonable chance of getting by without working whilst here. If you can show that, you shouldn’t have any problems.

    Good luck getting the visa.

Hi Kuya, is the advance enrollment certificate from some college/university valid as an evidence of my return? If not, what else i can show to them...

    Many thanks...

Anything that can add weight to your application that will convince the ECO that you arent likely to overstay your visa in the UK.

Do you have any children, for example? Or any other strong ties in the Philippines?

I have parents and siblings, but not children as i'm still single. I'm planning to get an advance enrollment in some university which i can possibly attend next year June 2015.

Yes. These types of visa are not easy to aquire. The good news is that they are so much cheaper than a Spouse or Fiancee visa. Consequently are worth a try as you wouldnt lose a lot of money if the application failed.

For a general tourist visa, as said here, show that you have strong ties here in the Philippines and you have some money to cover for yourself just i case something happens while you are in the UK. As far as I remember, they will ask you if you have any family in the Philippines and in the UK, I'm not sure why but certainly there is some weight there.

Do you have a time deposit? That might be a good way to show that you have ties here because your money is locked up and you would have to return to the country to claim it.

For your sponsor, you have to have his/her financial documents, proof of address and an invitation letter stating that he/she will be covering the costs.

A good travel history will also work for you and show that you still return to the Philippines.
