hi there! I want to ask about financial requirement for fiance or spouse visa. What will happen if the guy is only receiving a minimum salary and his employer dont remmitted tax for him? Meaning he dont pay taxes from his salary. Do you think it will not meet the financial required to apply for a fiancee or spouse visa? all inputs are welcome. thanks in advance!

What do you mean he's not paying tax? Is he not earning enough? If not, then he doesn't meet the requirement.

If he is earning enough but not paying tax then the last people he should tell is the government, I'd suggest.

If he is earning, then I think he will need to show payslips from his employment and bank statements showing deposits that match the net amount on the payslips. If the payslips clearly show that no tax has been paid, then I would imagine that this would be a red flag... If there are no payslips at all then its going to be hard to prove earnings without a P60. A p60 requires that he paid taxes..

Yes he told me he is not paying tax...thats why I get bothered about it. As what I know, the person who will sponsor you, needs to pay taxes.

minimum rate is £6-50 per hour---so a 37 hour week earns £240-50 a week--which is £12,506. per year. the requirement for the visa is £18,600-00 per year.

i would have thought those earnings would still be subject to tax.
