Financial Requirements (Salary and Letter from Employer)

    Greetings Folks,

getting close to sending documents over to my wife in the Philippines, she'll be applying for Spouse visa very soon hopefully.
I'm here to ask for advice please, the closer I think I am to getting everything together, the more confusing it seems to get! Like everyone else we want to get this right first time. It's already very stressful and last thing we want is a refusal.

I'm kind of on top of most of the requirements, just a little unsure regarding my pay and letter from employer.

I was living in the Philippines myself until last summer but moved back to UK and started a job on September 21st, 2015.
It pays 9.50 an hour with no amount of hours specified on contract, although I've always done at least 40 hours per week and in that 6 months have earned gross pay of over 11000.
I'm paid weekly, receiving an electronic payslip.

So, am I considered to be in Non-Salaried Employment and can send my payslips for that 26 week period?
Does the letter from my employers need to quote the calculation I've seen on a Gov.uk site (6 months gross pay, divide by 6, multiply by 12)? Do I need to mention that calculation? Or is the inclusion in letter from employers that I get paid 9.50 per hour enough and ECO will do calculations?

I took a fortnights holiday in Jan/Feb and holiday pay I'd accrued was paid to me but for one week I didn't get paid anything, also didn't receive a payslip, presumably because it was zero pay. Should I ask for that 'zero' payslip from my company or would a cover letter with the other 25 payslips be ok?

Any help/advice on the above would be gratefully appreciated.....thanks.

The UKVI are only interested in your last six months payslips but by all means submit 12 months if you feel it will prove somehow that you meet the £18,600 requirement.

You need a letter from your employer stating how much you are paid, for how long you have been paid that amount and whether your job is permanent or temporary. If you think your employer can help explain your situation then ask them to include in the above letter an explanation.

I'm always a little uneasy when people on the forum have certain payslip anomalies as the financial side of the application is the most important.

By the way, try to be a little bit clearer when you post about your situation as it is difficult to appreciate your situation, that's probably why nobody has replied to your post.

    Good luck :)

    Thanks Timmers.

I'll be in touch with our payroll department this week.
Hopefully they can explain the situation within their letter and supply me the missing payslip, albeit with zero pay.

Try to keep the letter basic and to the point, you don't want the case officer dealing with your application having to think too much, its got to be clear to them exactly what your financial status is.

They need evidence that you meet the requirement and it is your job to prove it.

I'd just like to hijack this thread one moment and ask a quick question regarding the letter from the employer.

What should I ask my payroll department to write for me? I earn over the requirement, but that's with added shift bonuses. My actual basic wage falls below the threshold. Eg, without working shifts, I'd make about 18k even though I actually make aroujd 24k.

So should I ask my employer to explain this in their statement?

    Thanks

I'm not an expert- I hope one will be along in a minute - but I suggest that you ask them to word their letter along the lines of "Over the past six minutes months he has earned "£X"...

I would personally ask the payroll department to explain that your shift bonus takes your salary to 24k. Anything that is not crystal clear regarding your ability to reach the financial threshold of £18,600 is well worth explaining, remember to keep all explanations as simple as you possibly can as not to confuse or create suspicion for the case worker handling your visa application.

You need the letter to also include your salary, how long you have been paid that salary for, time with company and whether the position is temporary or permanent

Thanks a lot, when the time comes that we'll make the application, i'll ask them to explain my salary the way you suggested (Not to complicated). I have all the payslips to back it up also.

    thanks again

edit, wow, i found my original account (auto saved my password on my pc) didnt even realise haha. I'll revert back to the one I asked the question with
