Hi Davead and welcome to British Filipino, I don't know much about getting a visa for three months for the Philippines but I do know one thing, from what I have read here it is not too difficult at all. I know you get a one month visa on entry to the Philippines then you are able to extend at various locations, the chaps here will point you in the right direction.

@Markham may be the man to help you, hopefully he will post soon as I have tagged him.

    Enjoy the Philippines.

30 days visa free on entry but you will need a return or onward ticket out..
Then you can extend for 29 days at any B.I office.
After that you can extend for (from memory) 3 months but apart from visa fees they will ask you for 50$$ as you apply for a tourist ACR card which is valid for one year.
I think you can extend in this manner for up to 3 years renewing your ACR card each year.

I'm actually in Dumaguete at present, Boots on the ground is right about the visa. After 30 days you need to visit the BI which is hard to find, it cost about P2030, Visa waiver 29 days, after that, not sure I'm going to the dreaded BI office next week to extend my visa, will let you know how I go on. BTW If you can't find the BI office, look for the mc Donald in town, BI office is across the road next street on the left. you can use google earth.

BootsOnGround and Jim have pretty much covered it. At some point during the first four weeks you'll need to visit the local office of the Bureau of Immigration to extend your stay in the country. You should be able to obtain a two-month extension. If your permitted period is about to run-out, you must obtain a further extension: you will not be able to leave the country until you do so. BoI can require to see proof that you have a confirmed reservation on a flight leaving the country and they will require your Passport, so take both your flight ticket and Passport with you.

Here's an update, just got back from BoI In total I have stayed 59 days, so I asked for another two months extension, they asked for P 7,000. I said to the lady it's only P 3000. If you stay more than 59 days, you have to have an ACR card. Which cost over P7000.

So Anyone thinking of staying in the PI for more than 3 months be prepared to take more money with you.
Well at least I don't have to get a pre enter visa in London next December, for my next visit to PI.

Just another money making bureaucrat nonsense.

Hello guys,, im a bit nervous when i saw this email from manilavisaapplication@fco,,, what exactly it mean.. it makes me nervous....

Your decision will be despatched shortly. Passports can normally be collected from the Visa Application Centre after 3 working days unless you have been advised it will be returned by courier or have paid an additional courier fee.

Renting a house in PI, usually needs at least 12 months rent and two months deposit. How many bedrooms? All depends on your budget!
Generalizing, you can possibly rent in Bais from P5000 depends on location, and size. join this forum. lot's of info about Dumaguete.

Provided that you have a British Passport with more than six months' remaining validity, you can make use of the Visa Waiver scheme. This permits you 30 days in the country but if you wish to stay longer, you will need to visit your nearest office of the Bureau of Immigration, taking with you your Passport (plus photocopies of its personal details' page and that showing your arrival stamp), pay the fee and get a one month's extension of stay.

If your ticket's return date can be changed, either free or for a fee, then it should be accepted by the airline which brings you to Manila and by immigration officers. If changing your ticket's return date is not possible, then you should purchase an additional ticket, departing within the initial 30 day period, to any destination outside the Philippines. Tiger Air to Singapore is a popular choice for "throwaways".

Davead, I'm here for 4 months, have a return ticket, pre entry visa from london 59 days £22. Then 30 days stay no other visa required. after 30 days you need to go to BOI in Dumaguete for visa waiver 29 days. Then when your 29 days are up go back to BOI and get an extension visa. I had to get a 12 monthe ACR card. I see you joined Dumaguete forum, a little hint, Introduce your self on the forum. I'm jimeve on there. Enjoy.
