Guys, i need some answers on this, I will be travelling on my own to UK this coming July. My husband can't avail holiday from work :(:( so i have to travel on my own.

    My worries are these:
My husband is paying for my flight using his debit card but i have heard that they ask for the card that has been use to purchase the ticket, so what will i do now without this card??i do not want to face problems on my travel with this issue.

    secondly,

Can you guys share me some experiences during your travel to Heathrow airport? were you ask for the card that you use to purchase your ticket? any step by step guide i should follow upon arrival?

Whether payment is made by credit card or debit card a number of airlines do require sight of the card used for ticket purchase.
When this is required it will be at the check-in desk from the airline staff.
Also it depends if your husband booked and paid directly with the airline or if he booked and paid via a travel agent.
Bookings made via a travel agent will not entail showing details of the card at your check-in.

I would strongly advise that in the case of a direct ticket booking with the airline, that before purchase your husband also discusses validation of the card etc and what would be required at the check-in desk.
Many times it's OK to show a photocopy of the card.
My advice is that your husband should check with the airline first, or better still book via an agent.
By the way, I've heard that Etihad Airways can be difficult on that score.

As mentioned you will only be asked for card details (if required) at check-in not at Heathrow arrivals.
Your arrival and processing at Heathrow airport will be very easy and very smooth. In principle you only need your passport with your visa.
Just be sure that all your ID's, marriage certificate and other key documents are easily to hand in your carry-on bag.

Check in online. I'm not sure if they ask for card details. I can't remember having to give them, but it may have passed me by. Just have the card details to hand just in case.

You could also get your husband to get a top up mastercard and mail it to you. Then, once you have it, you could have that card topped up and then used for the purchase.

Then you could show it to the desk at the airport.

    Yep, that's a good idea.

I found my Caxton dollar card very handy recently on our US holiday. Never had a single issue.

missusmakulit, if your husband does not use a travel agent then whatever card he uses he should send you a scanned copy of the front and the back of the card just in case. He needs to clear this with the airline whichever airline is used.
There have been cases of refusal to check-in over this issue. Better safe than sorry. Scanned copy will work.
    Minimise the risks................pleeeeeeeeeease.
We want you here safe and sound after all the challenges you already overcome.

Nope, all he needs to do is apply for one here in the UK and mail it to you. Here are some to look at:like:

I had a MyTravelCash prepaid card. I say had, as I left it with my wife and she uses it now after I top it up each month. You can apply for one of those cards here. And the beuty is they don't have a name on the plastic!! So you can easily say it is your card gifted to you by your husband, or claim it as your own.
